Dorchester County Housing Market September 2026: What Buyers Are Choosing as Fall Begins
September marks a noticeable change in routine. Summer trips are ending, school schedules return, football weekends begin, and the holiday season starts appearing on the horizon. For Dorchester County homeowners considering selling, that can raise an important question: Is the opportunity to sell beginning to disappear? The homes that ratified contracts between September 1 and September 18, 2026, suggest that buyers are still present. They are simply taking their time deciding which homes offer the right combination of price, condition, and location.
During those eighteen days, 128 homes in Dorchester County went under contract. The median asking price at the time of ratification was approximately $370,000. The median home had been available for about 46 days before a buyer and seller reached an agreement.
